About Pladio

Pladio is a premium, privacy-focused internet radio streaming app built natively for Apple's ecosystem — iOS, macOS, tvOS, WatchOS and CarPlay. Developed as a solo indie project by Patrick Diezi / KREANIQS in Switzerland, Pladio combines traditional radio discovery with modern music intelligence: automatic song recognition via audio fingerprinting (ACRCloud), Apple Music integration for metadata enrichment and library management, and real-time lyrics display. The app offers access to a curated library of 40,000+ stations from 192 countries, with comprehensive search across nine categories, favorites management, and user-created manual stations — all synchronized seamlessly across devices via iCloud.

Pladio stands apart through its commitment to privacy (no ads, no data selling, EU-hosted analytics with full opt-out), Swiss engineering quality, and a native experience on every platform — including a macOS Menu Bar MiniPlayer with full/reduced display modes, Start at Login support, and full CarPlay integration with Now Playing. With support for 27 languages and runtime language switching (no restart required), Pladio serves a global audience of 8’000+ downloads.

The app follows a freemium model: core streaming and discovery features are free, while premium features are available via a single Pladio Premium subscription tier at CHF 6/month (CHF 50/year). Premium features are introduced in waves:

  • Premium V1 (v1.4 — soon on the App Store) includes the Audio Equalizer, In-App Volume Control, Sleep Timer Presets, Station Alarm, Audio Boost (loudness normalization), the Apple TV and Apple Watch apps, and the Quick Resume Widget. Home Screen Widgets (Now Playing, Favorites, Recent, My Stations) and Shortcuts Support shipped as free features in the same release.

  • Premium V2 (v1.5 — in development) will add Song History, Listening Statistics with Year in Review, Playlist Export to Apple Music, a Last.fm Scrobbler, manual song recognition trigger, and a Prefer High Quality stream option — features that require the new cloud-backed architecture. v1.5 also brings several free quality-of-life improvements: recognizable auto-generated station logos, a Display Station Infos view, reorderable app tabs, and drag-and-drop sorting of station lists.
